Maine Trailer Title & Registration

National Fleet Services has a statutory agent agreement that allows us to register your traiIers(s) in the State of Maine. There are more trailers registered in Maine than any other state other than the State of California.

The information being requested below will allow our transport specialists to title and register your trailers in the state of Maine, providing your company with operating savings in the areas of (1) licensing and registration fees; (2) sales and use taxes; and (3) property tax or ad valorem taxes. Our process to register trailers in Maine is straightforward and generally will follow one of the three methods below:

  1. Your trailer(s) is already registered in another state. - All we will need is:
    1. Copy of the current registration
    2. Signed Power of Attorney
    3. Number of years to register the trailer
    4. Payment of registration fees
  2. You purchased a trailer and already have a title for the trailer in the company name. - All we will need is:
    1. Copy of the front page of the title
    2. Copy of the bill of sale
    3. Signed Power of Attorney
    4. Number of years to register the trailer
    5. Payment of registration fees
  3. You just purchased a trailer(s) that is dated 1995 or newer and weighs 3,001 pounds or more. - All we will need is:
    1. The original title signed over to your company or MSO
    2. Copy of the bill of sale
    3. Signed Power of Attorney
    4. Number of years to register the trailer
    5. Payment of registration fees

Trailer registrations in Maine always expire on February 28 of the final year of the registration.
